FD watch

New finance directors have been appointed at Merchant Securities, Faces Cosmetics and Queenco Leisure International.

John Sidney Hardcastle Foster-Powell has been appointed chief financial officer of Merchant Securities, the financial services group. Foster-Powell has been the group interim financial controller since 8 August 2008.

Rupert Folkard has resigned as finance director of Faces Cosmetics. Non-executive director Dimple Sanghi will act as interim FD until a replacement has been found.

Evelyn Bourke has been appointed chief financial officer of Friends Provident. Bourke is currently CFO of Standard Life UK Financial Services and will join Friends Provident after completing a notice period of six months. Until then, Charles Bellringer will remain interim CFO.

Stanley Elliott has resigned as finance director of Chieftain after the Redhall Group’s recommended cash offer for the company was declared unconditional in all respects. He will remain with the company to ensure an orderly handover .

Philip Broadley has been appointed group finance director of Old Mutual. He replaces Jonathan Nicholls, who is leaving the company in order to pursue interests outside the life insurance sector. Broadley was previously group FD of Prudential.

David Crump has resigned from Allipo. Robert Emmet, already a director of the company, will become the chief financial officer.

Neomi Enoch has joined casino and resort operator Queenco Leisure International as chief financial officer. She succeeds Effy Aboudy, who is leaving his position at the end of this year to pursue other interests.
