The chief administration and financial officer of Colt, Tony Bates, has been appointed chief operating officer of the company.

He will remain as acting group finance director until a replacement is appointed.

The company says Bates, who has been CFO for the past for years, has been promoted because Colt’s business development opportunities are growing and becoming increasingly complex. He will work closely with Colt CEO Rakesh Bhasin.

Colt provides data, voice and managed services to businesses and government.
