FDs' Excellence Awards

by Catherine Woods - Wednesday, 19th December 2007 -

FDs' Excellence Awards

Despite all the hype around “software as a service”, John Beech, the managing director of Access Accounting, says the market isn’t ready for it yet.

“There’s a lot of talk about ‘software as a service’ and we’ve certainly got an offering available in that market and we’re all ready for it to take off when the customers are ready,” he says.

“The thing we see in the short-term is a trend towards self-service, which is the area of web enablement. This is where we can extend the finance and business system outside of the finance department to create a smoother operation.”

Access Accounting won the financial software award at this year’s RealFD/CBI FDs’ Excellence Awards. Since the victory, Beech says the company has released a “whole set of web enablement extension to our dimensions product”.
