Surviving A Downturn
by Michelle Penny - Thursday, 4th October 2007 -
Surviving A Downturn is from the Business On A Shoestring series of books and is written by Jeremy Kourdi, a consultant and business author. As you’ll have probably guessed from the title, this book is about how to get through the tough times in business (we’ve all had them).
The addition of real-life examples is an extra benefit, not just because it made issues easier to understand but reassuringly shows that there is a way out of the darkness you feel when your business takes a downturn.
Strangely enough, the strongest and weakest things about the book are the same thing: the way it is written.
This books tries to cover a lot and does. But this, at times, feels overwhelming. The book jumps from one complex issue to another and it left me feeling quite drained.
Overall, though, I thought it was a really useful read. None of us ever want to go through the bad times in business, but invariably we all will. The journey back is never easy, but this book makes it a little bit easier and helps you get the bounce back in your step.
