Brighthouse FD gets among it

Brighthouse FD gets among it

You won’t find Brighthouse FD Giles David stuck behind his desk, day in and day out.

No, as a member of the leadership team at the household goods specialist, David is often found among Brighthouse's customers.

“This is a retail business; it’s open six days a week,” David says. “You would expect in many instances to see myself, the chief executive and any other members of the leadership team on a Saturday morning in amongst the retail businesses. That’s true.

“We set an example which is around personal standards of drive and energy, and holding ourselves accountable.”

Brighthouse is a business that’s thriving even as the economy takes a dip. Turnover is expected to grow 11 per cent this fiscal year to £129m. David and CEO Leo McKee were brought into the business to take advantage of the opportunities in the market.

“The business has always had a strong proposition,” David says. “However, it’s pace of performance had slowed significantly so management changes were made. The financial results reflect the fact the business wasn’t growing as successfully as it could have been.”
