Liverpool FC finance director gets dragged into Hicks spat
Monday, 14th April 2008 by Catherine Woods
Being a West Ham supporter, I haven’t paid much attention to the bickering at Liverpool FC between co-owner Tom Hicks and chief executive Rick Parry.
However, a story in the Mail on Sunday caught my eye when it indicated Liverpool’s finance director Philip Nash is becoming involved in the brouhaha.
For the record, Hicks is trying to get rid of Parry. He claims it’s because Parry isn’t leading the club in an appropriate fashion but basically it seems he just doesn’t like the bloke.
Hicks would prefer the club’s commercial director, Ian Ayre, to be running the show. But in the Mail article, we learn that Nash also has an important role to play.
Hicks said: “Under my ownership Ian Ayre, [finance director] Philip Nash and [team manager Rafa Benitez would make an outstanding management team.”
Good luck, Nash.
